I am about to submit a t-shirt design into a contest to have it printed (and win cool prizes!). I didn’t want to blatantly rip off Affliction’s style, but rather create my own that was influenced by Affliction’s oversized hand drawn prints. The result is a style I like to call “dark whimsical”. If you’re anxiously awaiting part two of my year in review (the one where I normally talk about music and such), I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.
Between the house and my work setting up the business, I just never got around to it. Plus, there’s simply far too many bands in 2008 that have been amazing. It was a great year for rock/alternative/poppunk, so a LOT of great music came out.
Today, Apple finally released the long anticipated update to their Mac Pro. The Mac Pro had last been updated over a year and a half ago, and the update was long overdue. Personally, I was looking forward to the update as I was hoping to take the plunge and get a “real Mac” again. Did Apple blow me away? Will I be buying a new Mac Pro? Or did the almighty Apple release a dud? Keep reading the rest of this article…
In case you haven’t heard, I’ve been getting a number of calls lately for video work, including editing a feature film shot on Red, and producing a docu-drama for the Ontario Parole Board. I’m also in the process of putting together my “client spotlight” pieces that will be featured on the Hotcakes website. I found that I needed to create my little animated intro, similar to the “20th Century” spotlight intro, or the Dreamworks “kid fishing on the moon”. Here’s what I came up with:
Just wanted to mention that the site has been upgraded to the latest code. This was a fairly substantial update with a lot of changes (to the backend code… nothing visible to the average viewer). Everything appears to be working, but please let me know if you happen to spot anything out of order.
I’ve finally gotten around to taking pictures of the house after all the work and design and decorating. The results were pretty astonishing, and I’m loving the house. I love the fact that I was able to design everything from the beginning the way I wanted instead of trying to fit my design around existing items. It gave me the opportunity to push my designs and build a space that was 100% mine. Want some pictures? Of course you do! Keep reading the rest of this article…
Yes, I am finally taking the time to write my “year in review” post. Hey, give me a break. It’s only 2 weeks late.
2008 was certainly a year of change for me; Not that any of the previous 5 years have been stale by any means, but 2008 was a year with large-scale scary decisions and accomplishments. How did I fare this year? Let’s find out. Keep reading the rest of this article…
Yesterday, we had our PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) for the new house. We have pictures below. But first, my thoughts. Keep reading the rest of this article…
It’s been far too long since I’ve posted. I know. The horrific combination of preparing for the new house and working my buns off to make money with Hotcakes New Media is keeping me from doing frivolous things, like posting here! So I thought I’d take a moment and talk about music; In particular, the new Guns n’ Roses album. Keep reading the rest of this article…
