A piece of history
This weekend we started packing for our move to Ottawa. We started with books, DVDs, and CDs. In order to reduce the stuff we have to pack (and subsequently keep in storage for 6 months), I decided to do some purging of old crap I didn’t need any longer. In the process of going through my computer CDs, I came across a backup disc from my PC days (i.e. from a LONG time ago). On MC’s insistence, I popped in the CD to see what was on it, and came across a little gem of a video.
The video features my sister Sam singing and performing Overprotected by Britney Spears. It was made as a contest entry to win tickets to a Britney Spears concert. This was my second video production ever, and was created using an old VHS tape camera, and a trial of Premere (version 2 I believe!) on the PC. Looking back at it now, it was actually pretty well done considering the technology I was working with. I just can’t help but laugh at the hilariously cheesy transitions I used. Thankfully, I learned my lesson about transitions by the time I made my third video, so nobody had to endure the horror of bad wipes and transitions ever again.
Historical note:
As mentioned, this was my second video production. My first was a video package for my high school graduating art class for the school’s arts gala. I wish I could find a copy of it; Ironically, that gala video featured me naked (though I wasn’t really naked… we just made it look that way), which later became a recurring theme in my OCAD works.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little piece of history.

I know. The things we do always come back to haunt us.
That’s ok… it’s cute and funny. No one takes this stuff seriously around here.

I thought it was awesome!
Hope everyone is well. Take care and have a great day,
I think seeing things like that help us appreciate where we are because sometimes we can forget where we were.
Although my words may come back to haunt me. If Andy has that he can have something with me…hmmm

Thanks Jill. I guess it goes to show how I had a natural talent for video.
